U.S. job openings at the last day of October were 8.7 million, down from 9.6 million in September and well below expectations of 9.4 million. Total separations were little changed during October at 5.6 million, with layoffs and discharges at 1.6 million or 1% and quits at 3.6 million or 2.3%. U.S. services PMI readings remained in expansion territory in November according to S&P Global and ISM. S&P Global's reading of 50.8 matched its earlier flash reading and changed little from October's 50.6. New orders rose particularly within exports.
